Our primary source of CBD is from a production facility in Colorado USA that is operating in line with GMP (pharmaceutical standards). The production facility is supplied with plants from a local growers collective who all share in the positive philosophy of growing high quality pesticide free hemp. This unique approach means we can trace our CBD right back to the field it was grown in and know where the seeds used came from.
Once harvested, the hemp leaves and flowers are prepared for extraction of CBD and other cannabinoids using Cryogenic Ethanol Extraction. Unlike Supercritical CO2 Extraction, this method ensures the full spectrum of the plants’ cannabinoids and essential oils are not damaged and are maintained in the botanical extraction. A combination of short-path, wiped-film and fractional distillation follow to produce a low-THC distillate.
While this extraction method is more difficult than others, it produces a high quality and reliable CBD extract. Unlike other methods, it doesn’t compromise the beneficial compounds of the plant.
Our products are made with ingredients grown in nature. Sometimes these ingredients vary slightly from batch to batch. At The Raw Botanics Co. we do not use any additives, stabilisers or dyes to standardise the colour of our products.
Giving you a 100% natural CBD oil.
If you experience any colour difference from product to product that is due to the natural variation in our hemp crops. We thoroughly test each batch to ensure that the amount of hemp extract stays consistent in each product, so you needn't worry if your oil looks different from last time.
Don’t worry, there is no need to be alarmed if your oil is turning pink. We use coconut based MCT oil as the carrier oil for our hemp extract. MCT oil contains powerful anti-oxidants, such as polyphenols, which can turn pink when exposed to different levels of light and/ or oxygen. It happens to coconut water and it happens to fresh coconut as well.
It is perfectly safe to use and causes to no change to the quality or effectiveness of the oil.
CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of a group of over 80 phyto-cannabinoid compounds that are found in the Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) plant.
CBD specifically comes from the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. (Not to be confused with oil that comes from hemp seeds, which contain no cannabinoids.)
CBD is a non-psychoactive compound - it doesn’t get you high – and in its pure form isn’t controlled. For this reason, interest in the potential health benefits of the compound have increased, and CBD has become a part of many people’s health and wellness regime.
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is one of the most well known cannabinoids identified in cannabis. THC is the principal psychoactive constituent of cannabis. This is the element of the cannabis plant that get's you "high" when ingested.
Yes, CBD oil is legal in the EU as long as each container contains less than 1mg of THC. We use an internationally recognised laboratory to test every batch, to make sure all our products are compliant with EU law.
